Terms of use

§ 1 Provider and scope

  1. GetSteuer is a service of Ichii GmbH, Kollwitzstraße 76, 10435 Berlin (registered at the Amtsgericht Charlottenburg (Berlin), HRB 273169 B) – “GetSteuer”.
  2. These terms apply to businesses looking for a Steuerberater (“businesses”) and to Steuerberater or tax advisory firms (“advisors”).
  3. GetSteuer is intended exclusively for entrepreneurs within the meaning of § 14 BGB acting in their business or professional capacity.

§ 2 What GetSteuer does

  1. GetSteuer is an introduction platform. It connects businesses with suitable advisors approved by GetSteuer. Introductions are free for businesses and advisors.
  2. GetSteuer does not provide tax or legal advice or accounting services and is not a tax advisory firm.
  3. Any advisory engagement is concluded solely between the business and the advisor. GetSteuer is not a party to it and is not responsible for the advisor’s services.
  4. GetSteuer selects suitable advisors automatically based on the business’s answers and the advisors’ profiles. There is no entitlement to a specific number of introductions, a response, an appointment or an engagement.

§ 3 Use by businesses

  1. GetSteuer is free for businesses. There are no matching or introduction fees and no payment details are required.
  2. The business completes a questionnaire and confirms its email address. GetSteuer then starts matching automatically.
  3. With the business’s consent, up to five advisors per search round who are interested in the request receive its contact details to respond. Before that, advisors only see an anonymised summary. The business receives these advisors’ contact details.
  4. The business freely decides whether and with whom to work. It can stop at any time (“I found an advisor” / “I no longer need an advisor”) or ask for more advisors (“Keep looking”).
  5. The business confirms that its information is accurate and that it is authorised to make the request.

§ 4 Participation of advisors

  1. Applying, creating a profile, review and approval are free. There is no entitlement to approval.
  2. Before approval, GetSteuer checks the advisor’s appointment as Steuerberater or recognition as a tax advisory firm against the official register (basic check). Other profile details are provided by the advisors and are not independently checked by GetSteuer unless an optional verification under § 6 has taken place.
  3. Only persons and firms authorised to provide tax assistance in Germany may participate. Advisors confirm that their information is accurate and inform GetSteuer of changes without delay.
  4. Advisors receive matching requests free of charge as an anonymised summary (“opportunity”). An opportunity is usually available for 24 hours. Saying you’re interested and passing are free.
  5. Compliance with professional rules, in particular the Steuerberatungsgesetz and professional code, is the advisor’s sole responsibility.

§ 5 Free introductions

  1. If an advisor says they are interested in an opportunity that is still available (“Interested”), GetSteuer makes the introduction: the advisor receives the business’s contact details and the business receives the advisor’s. There are no fees, commissions or other charges for this.
  2. Introductions are non-exclusive: up to five advisors per search round can connect with the same business. Once all places are taken or the business has stopped the search, the opportunity is no longer available.
  3. GetSteuer does not owe an appointment, a response from the business, an engagement or any commercial result.

§ 6 GetSteuer Verified (optional paid review)

  1. Approved advisors may voluntarily order a verification review (“GetSteuer Verified”). Participation in the marketplace, matching, ordering, the number of opportunities and introductions are independent of it; verified and unverified advisors are treated the same.
  2. The service is a review by GetSteuer staff according to the published methodology (in particular professional status, identity, practice details and selected profile claims). A person makes the decision. The review fee is €249 plus statutory VAT per review and is due when the review is ordered.
  3. The payment pays for the review and does not guarantee approval. If approved, GetSteuer shows a badge and a factual summary of the review, written independently by GetSteuer, for 12 months from the decision, each with the note that it is an optional paid review. Renewal requires a new review; there is no automatic renewal.
  4. If the review is completed and the criteria are not met, no badge is shown; the fee is ordinarily not refunded. If GetSteuer cannot perform the review, or the advisor withdraws before the review starts, GetSteuer refunds the fee. If the advisor does not answer a question within 30 days, GetSteuer may close the application; the fee is then credited towards a new application within 6 months or partly refunded. Duplicate payments are refunded.
  5. The advisor may report factual errors in the summary; the advisor cannot edit it. GetSteuer may withdraw an approval if its conditions cease to apply or material information proves incorrect.
  6. Verification is not a government or chamber certification, not a quality rating and not a recommendation. Advisors who mention the verification in their own advertising must use the wording provided by GetSteuer, including the validity date.

§ 7 Use of contact details

  1. Contact details received through an introduction may only be used to respond to the specific request. Passing them on or using them for other purposes is not permitted.
  2. Upon the introduction, the advisor becomes an independent controller under data protection law for any further processing of the contact details.

§ 8 Liability

  1. GetSteuer is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the Product Liability Act.
  2. For slight negligence, GetSteuer is only liable for breach of an essential contractual obligation and limited to the typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise liability is excluded.
  3. GetSteuer is not liable for the services, statements or conduct of advisors or businesses.

§ 9 Term, suspension and changes

  1. Advisors can end their participation at any time. GetSteuer may suspend profiles for breaches of these terms or if the admission requirements no longer apply.
  2. GetSteuer may change these terms for the future. Registered advisors are informed by email in advance and may object.

§ 10 Final provisions

  1. German law applies. To the extent permitted by law, the place of jurisdiction is Berlin.
  2. The German version of these terms is binding. The English version is for information only.
  3. Should any provision be invalid, the remaining provisions remain unaffected.
